Clothing: |
The temperature difference between day and night in Taiwan is large, recommended clothing is as follows:
Spring : around March, April and May, generally long- or short-sleeve shirt with a thin jacket.
Summer : around June, July and August, thin short-sleeve shirt.
Fall : around September, October, November, long-sleeve shirt, with sweater, overcoat.
Winter : around December, January, February , thick long-sleeve shirt, with sweater and with thick overcoat (can be purchased in Roosevelt Road, Nanchang Street, Shita road, Kungkuan, Hsimenting, any department store in the Eastern district and in the night market).

Many restaurants are to be found in Roosevelt Road, Nanchang Street, Fuchou Street, Hoping E. Road.
An example of menus available: lunch box (with noodles or rice), chicken leg, pork rib, beef, goose (with noodles/rice) and others, average individual cost at about NT$50-100.
Snack category: meat dumplings, Tienpla, thick pork soup, meat balls, pork balls, 3-assorted balls, Fuchou meat balls, ravioli, dessert… etc. Average individual cost at about NT$30-50.
Fast food stores: McDonald (on Roosevelt Road and Nanchang Street), average individual cost at about NT$110)
Pizza : Nanchang Street, general individual cost is above NT$119
Steak : Nanchang Street, Hoping E. Road, average individual cost is above NT$120
“All you can eat” for a fixed price (with numerous dishes, including salad bar and hot pot category), average individual cost is about NT$199, 299 or 399. Vegetarian food (in Nanchang Street), average individual cost is about NT$100.
Other restaurants include: Syrchuan, Hunan, Canton, Chiangsu & Chekiang, Taiwan, Japan, Vietanam, Thailand styles, bakeries, coffee shops, tea art houses… etc. Various cooked foods can be purchased in Nanmen Market. |

The private lease sharing part needs to be arranged by the student and the following information is for reference :
‧Small room, above 2 pings per room, monthly rental about $5000-7000, determined by size (small room above 3 pings along Hsintien,Yungho and the school with monthly rental about $5000-10000).
‧Monthly rental of suite (1 room) is about $7000-12000. Monthly rental of apartment for a household is generally above $12000, determined by size and equipments such as air conditioner, refrigerator,telephone… etc. |
| All the above lease categories require a lease deposit in addition to the monthly rental for about 1-2 months which will be refunded when moving out, while some do not require a deposit. |
Transportation: |
Bus, MRT (Gouting station, exit: 7), taxis are accessible. Additional diagrams with indications are available. |
